It's great to see the outdoor exercise equipment in Caernarvon Park being used again. Just recently, the all weather surface under the equipment has been enlarged which will help particularly through the wetter months. The Gloucestershire Playing Fields Association has issued some guidance on using outdoor gyms. Essentially the guidance means that we are encouraged to take personal responsibilty when using the equipment, observe social distancing rules, carry hand sanitiser to use after touching any surfaces, avoid eating and drinking whilst on the equipment and wash our hands as soon as practically possible after you have exercised.

Just outside the Parish, finally after a lot of hard work by Lakeside FC, the Cold Pool Lane Sports Club is being used, with footballers of all ages, boys, girls and seniors using this facility. It is possible to hire the venue - for details of availability please enquire to cplbookings@outlook.com. During lockdown, with the help of FC Lakeside's Rob Griffiths, the David Hall memorial bench was installed. David, who was chair of the Parish Council for 25 years and died in 2014 was instrumental in arguing for a replacement sports area following the loss of the M&G sports field when The Symphonies estate was developed. The bench is well secured on a raised grassy area with a good view of the football pitches.

With Joe Wicks stepping down from his daily workouts, we are very lucky to have our very own Joe Wicks for beginners/seniors living in Up Hatherley - Kelvin "Oggie" Cornish who has been busy during lockdown producing a series of fitness videos. Well worth a try - and can be found on You Tube if you look up oggiesilverfitness
