At the July meeting of the Parish Council, Mrs Falmai Reay was presented with a certificate of meritorious service in recognition of the 32 years she has run Elfin Pre-School Nursery at the Village Hall. Sadly, due to the difficulties faced by smaller Pre-school Nurseries in the current financial/funding climate, the group closes this month. Mrs Reay, who is very well known in the community by the generations of children who have been through the school, said how much she had enjoyed running Elfins and how she hoped to stay involved in the care of youngsters at this formative time of life. The council thanked Mrs Reay for the service she has given and the difference she has made to the lives of the youngsters, many of whom are parents themselves now.
